“A Rare Win for Mrs Gundi”

Mrs Gundi has been a consistent performer over short distances in WA throughout her career. Leading in to tonight’s Grade 6 over 302m the daughter of Sure As had started 48 times for just 2 wins and 25 minor placings, often losing in photo finishes. This evening she reeled in initial pacemaker Smokey Desire and reigned supreme after beginning only moderately. She scored by a length over Smokey Desire and Aeroplane Benny finished strongly for third. Mrs Gundi is prepared out of Southern River by Christine Bennett and tonight’s time of 17.55 was smart considering she came from behind. Bennett ‘saddles up’ five greyhounds at the Country Class Cannington meeting on Monday afternoon, Tee Gundi (Race 2 Number 1), Sunrise Gundi (Race 4 Number 5), Spring Bombshell (Race 5 Number 3), Betty Gundi (Race 9 Number 5) and Yackatoo Gundi (Race 9 Number 8).

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 3 Number 7 EXPLOSIVE GUNN : Finished like a rocket and will be winning a race very soon.

Race 4 Number 1 MISS DEBELLO : Returned to winning form with a tenacious win in 23.02.
