“Shared Bonus records ninth win from the pink box”
Veteran sprinter Shared Bonus was well supported in tonight’s Elders Insurance Grade 3 over 405m. The regally bred son of Brett Lee was having his 105th career start and was dropping from Free For All company back to a Grade 3. Despite being winless in WA he started a $2.20 favourite and most probably because of his startling box statistics from box eight. From 15 exits he had recorded an astonishing 8 wins and 5 minor placings. At box rise he began only moderately but noted speedster Majestic Mia had flown out of box seven and crossed the face of the field and was down to the rail. This allowed Shared Bonus to sweep around the outside and take the lead in the middle stages, before powering away for a three length triumph. The Greg Martin prepared Who’s Got It ran on well to finish second ahead of the Derek Coldstream trained Collision Bolt in third. Shared Bonus is owned by Luke Townsend and is trained by Chris Halse. He has now won 29 races and over $110,000 in career earnings.
